Non-Ferrous Metals Extraction

The process explained in simple words goes like this. Firstly, Ore containing non-ferrous metals goes through a grinding process and is mixed with water to form a slurry; sulfuric acid is added to this and mixed and stirred well until the metal reacts with the acid to form a sulfatic solution. This is recovered, and soil and mud are separated. The sulfatic solution form the basis of an electrolyte, further filtered and sent for electrolysis. Electrolysis of the electrolyte solution results in pure metal deposited on the cathode. In every individual process, thermoplastic piping systems are used extensively. Electrolytic Metal Recovery

Electrolytic metal recovery involves large tanks or electrolysis tubs having a an electrical charge passing through the electrolyte causing the metal to deposit on the cathode. Thermoplastic piping is extensively used to circulate electrolytes and sheets in tubs, fume hoods, and fume extraction systems.

Spent Electrolyte Pipelines

Spent Electrolyte is recycled and reused to ensure that maximum material is recovered. There are thermoplastic piping systems for spent electrolyte pipelines.

Effluent Treatment, ZLD and Water Recovery & Reuse

Effluent treatment plants and other water recovery and water reuse systems such ZLD use thermoplastic piping systems and liners for ETP tanks, chambers and sumps.

Thermoplastic Piping Systems are extensively used for cooling tower applications, for make-up water, cooling water and also for chemicals dozing for water conditioning.

Precious Metals & Trace Element Recovery

Like in case of Copper Extraction project, gold is also recovered as a trace element, in case of Zinc plants silver is recovered as trace element. This recovery happens by further processing and extracting the trace elements from the mud slurry after extracting non-ferrous metals.

Phosphoric Acid Service

Phosphoric acid is co-generated in various instances, such as in Copper extraction plants. Thermoplastic piping systems have found to be very compatible for phosphoric acid service.

Red-Mud Slurry

Red-Mud or spent ore-slurry is conveyed to disposal sites by the use of specialized pipes, mainly those that can withstand higher temperatures.

Alumina Slurry Transfer in Aluminum Plants

Alumina slurry constitutes the basis of aluminum extraction and also manufacturing of aluminum chloride or aluminum oxide. Thermoplastic piping systems such as HDPE pipes and abrasion-resistant pipes provide a good compatible solution for conveyance and transfer of Alumina slurry.
