With the help of a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), the sensor fixed at the bottom edge of the chute detects when the bin is full which in turn activates the base, which would automatically move and position an empty bin under the chute as required. The fully loaded bin then is automatically moved to the compaction station. Using a high tonnage ram that is extremely quiet and fast, the garbage is compacted to make space in the bin to receive additional garbage. This complete cycle repeats and the linear or rotary motion would continue to move till all bins are full. When the sensor detects that all bins are full after compaction, an alarm will be activated. The trolleys can now be simply wheeled away by authorized personnel to the collection area.
